The man who kept going
The Long Way — Bernard Moitessier, 1968-69
Sailing home toward likely victory in the Golden Globe, Moitessier turned away — rounded the great capes a second time and dropped anchor in Tahiti, one and a half times around the world without a port call.
How these routes are made
Bosco Atlas routes are reconstructed by our crew from published accounts — logs, books, press archives — anchored on documented dates and positions, with plausible weather-route interpolation in between. They are labelled as editorial reconstructions everywhere they appear. Sources are cited on every voyage page.
