Bosco turns a sailor's GPS track into the map of their voyage — the exact route, every tack, every port — and gives it back as a page, a video, a postcard, and even a 3D-printed object.

The paragraph (copy-paste ready)

Bosco is a free web and Android app for recreational sailors. Sailors import a GPX track from their chartplotter or from Navionics, and Bosco reconstructs the voyage: the exact sailed line preserved down to every tack, ports of call detected and named automatically, photos placed along the route, and a cinematic animated replay. The result is a public page anyone can open — plus an embeddable widget, an MP4 export, a printable postcard, a QR code, and a 3D-printable relief model of the voyage. Bosco was built by Seb, a French sailor and developer, during his own Gothenburg-to-Nice passage, after he found that every existing tool reduced a voyage to pins on a map.

    Track fidelity

    Where travel apps simplify a route into points of interest, Bosco keeps the full geometry of the passage — the upwind zigzag stays visible.

    The voyage becomes an object

    Bosco generates a 3D-printable STL file: a physical relief of the route, with a QR code linking back to the living page.

    One developer, on board

    The whole application was designed and built during a 2,271-mile, 68-stop delivery from Gothenburg to Nice.

What Bosco is not

Bosco is not navigation software and does not replace a chartplotter. It is not for sailing — it is for telling the story of what was sailed.

Founder bio

Seb is a developer and sailor. After several seasons sailing between Scandinavia and the Mediterranean, he built Bosco on board during a Gothenburg-to-Nice delivery, for want of a tool that could show his family his real track. He splits his life between software and pontoons, and builds Bosco alone.
